MEMPHIS HIGH SCHOOL 2007-2008 INSIDE THE TEAM
Wooddale Cardinals
A.J. Thomas and Kelvin Lester are gone and that was to be expected because both were seniors but losing Coach Harris was a bigger blow. Enter in Coach Terrance Scales from Vance Middle School. The Cardinals will look very different this season and for them to be successful in tough 15-AAA district, Marquis Wilson and Jamal Draine must be go to guys. The 6'2 sophmore has one the prettiest pull-jumpers in Memphis but he can finish at the rim. The thing that I look most about Wilson is his demeanor, as he never seems to get mad or frustrated at anything including hard fouls. Transfer Boo Marshall will start at the point guard after coming from Ridgeway last year. Marshall's one of the most poised guards at his age and he's not afraid to take the big shot if needed. Mike Jamison is a very underrated player who should have the opportunity to really show colleges what he can do. Jamison is another one of those sneaky Memphis guards that can get 10-15 points and you wonder how he got them. Jamal Draine has all the tools to be a 1st team all district type player. The senior forward can knock down shots from the perimeter, defend smaller players and rebound. There is no reason that he can't give 15-16 a night and 7-8 rebounds.

Wooddale could surprise some teams this year but they must get a boost from their role players. Lemelvin Davis is a pretty good defender and he can hit the open 3 with his awkward shooting form. Josh Jones will be asked to help rebound and freshman Darry Dowdy who at 5'2 may help at the point.
