5’11 Shadowlawn guard Chris Jones also impressed with great talent. Jones is a straight up scorer. He can hurt you deep or get in the lane for the floater. He’s very well a top 5 player in this class. Craigmont’s Drake House won’t be the focal point of the Chiefs offense, but don’t watch him and he hit you for 12-15 points a game. Little Rock guard/forward, Dashawn Watkins really impressed with his scoring ability, ball handling and leaping ability. Watkins was probably 1 of the top 2 athletes there. That other athlete that I’m talking about is Tedarrious Hodges. He’s a classic small forward, he can get to the rim and rebound but his ball handling must get better but when it does, he will be elite. Antonius Cleveland and Calvin Chambers really surprised with their play. Cleveland is a very clever offensively with a great floater and nice touch 15 ft out. Calvin Chambers is a lot like Booker T.Washington guard, Patrick Lee. He may have been one of top 3 shooters at the camp. Darian Prude is nice set shooter but I would love to see him become more aggressive offensively. Mus forward Vince Lee is another player forced into post because of his size at 5’10, which has kind of hindered him some what. He needs to work on his shooting and ball handling to become that nice player that I think he could be. William Woodfork has nice shooting touch but I would like to him become more assertive and become that player that he could be.
7th grader Rhyan Townes is probably the most fundamentally sound 7th grader that I’ve seen in a long town. He handles it great, and can finish on both sides of the rim. He’s a top 10 or maybe a top 5 guy. Matthew Butler has all the tools to be a good player as apparent by the sweet jumper that he hit over two defenders but Butler must to continue to work on his handle. Anton Beard has the potential to be the best player in Arkansas by his senior year. Chris Chiozza was probably the surprise of the camp. His shooting is great, he handles the ball well and he makes smart decisions with the ball. Gilbert Lee of Snowden Middle held his own with some the best in Memphis as well as 5’0 Khalil Jordan.
The future of Memphis basketball looks bright and 901prep would like to thank all the rising stars for the coming out to shine.

A rainy week, the middle school jamboree and the cancellation of one session didn’t stop a great day of competition as the 1st annual rising stars camp went off great success. Some of the areas best were on hand, to be evaluated including the electrifying Alex Anderson, the best pure scorer in middle school Cameron Golden, do it all Robert Houston and skilled forward/guard, Adam Weary. There was also a little bit of Arkansas flavor in the gym with 5’10 Dashawn Washington and one of the best 6th graders that I’ve seen in a long time, Anton Beard.
Cameron Golden
The eight grade class has the potential to be great one and it all starts with Cameron Golden. The 5’11 shooting guard’s offensive skills are exceptional with his ability to knock down shots from all over the floor. He has what most shooting guards overlook, the ability to stop and pop. His teammate Robert Houston is a man child who looks more like high school junior than 8th grader. He simply does everything well. He shoots it well from the three, takes it strong to the rim and rebounds with his great size at 6’2. Woodale Middle’s Alex Anderson is a scoring pg in the mold of former east guard, Tony Harris. If you need a bucket, he’s got them for you. Adam Weary of Colonial is a very versatile smart player who always seems to be around the ball. He has great footwork and a great midrange game.
