Meal 1
Summer has came and went as school got underway on Monday but for incoming freshmen like Cameron Golden it's a new year and a new start. Last year, Golden's team went undefeated and won the middle school state championship. He will leave behind a lot memories but most of all he says, "I will miss the coaches, we were like a family, if you needed anything they would be there for you". As he enters highschool his expectations are to play freshmen , junior varsity and varsity ball." I'm really not expecting much, its a new atmosphere and I will have to work my way into playing time". Just something for you to snack on, but in the next serving of "The Dish", its all Cameron. No editing, no rewording, just Cameron speaking his thoughts on his new life at Ridgeway. Stay tuned.

Cameron Golden Serves "The Dish"
The Dish
Welcome to the first serving of "The Dish" by 901PrepScoop's number one 2012 player, Cameron Golden. This year as a freshman at Ridgeway High School, 901PrepScoop will follow him as he begins a new chapter in his life as a highschool student and basketball player. This will be Cameron's thoughts about a new school, meeting new people and teammates and playing his first year on the highschool level and competing for many minutes on varsity. Sit back relax and let Cameron serve you, "The Dish".
Meal 2 (Sept 3rd)
What's crackin big world? My name is Cameron Golden. I am a freshman at Ridgeway High. The weeks I have attended I am enjoying it just a lil bit. I am sure I will get use to it. I have been hanging out with the roadrunner basketball team to get to know them better. These guys are winners. Hopefully I will be a part of that dis year. One thing I focus on more is my education. I will get all my work done before I play any sport. I have met many friends that have positive characters. The people that I am with are people that I need to stay with so that I make the right decisions. Alot of people have asked me am I Cameron Golden, and do you play basketball. I joke with them and say no, my name is lil dug and I play lacrosse. Then we laugh and I will tell them the truth. The guys on the team are cool to hang around and play with on the court. This year I plan on playing junior varsity and varsity. I plan to focus more on varsity than junior varsity. The reason I say that is because it is more challenging on the court, don't get me wrong, junior varsity has great talent also. My goal is to play varsity because everybody you play has talent and tha'ts the competition i'm looking for. Talk to you later
Myron Johnson and Cordaro Williams of Liberty Tech
He would score again this time putting his team up 53-52 with 1:00 minute remaining in the third quarter.  Tre Ballentine would end the quarter with a catch and score off an inbound pass leaving Hamilton clinging to a 54-53 lead as Liberty outscored them 32-14 in the third. 6 straight points by senior guard Feshaun Cole including a leaning jumper put the Wildcats up 5, 58-53 with 7:10 remaining. Both teams would go score for score including another pretty spinning left handed lay-in by Cole to tie the game, 71-71. Liberty’s poise and patience allowed them to move the ball around crisply leaving Joevante Arnold wide open for an uncontested 3 for a 74-71 lead with 40 seconds remaining. Freshmen guard Myron Johnson found Freddy Jackson under the goal for 2 points giving Hamilton hope and they got a big break when Liberty turned the ball over with 13.8 left in the game but the biggest turnover of the game belonged to Hamilton giving it back to the Crusaders forcing Tim Wright to intentionally foul Liberty. Two free throws by Liberty would ice the game as Liberty escaped from Hamilton’s upset bid, 76-73. Cordaro and Rickey Williams played huge in the 2nd half with 19 and 18 respectively. Hamilton was led by Denton’s 24 points. Point guard Freddie Jackson kicked in with 12 points.
3 pointers Bury Hamilton's Upset Chance

Crusaders Get Hot In The Third

Cold outside, well cold inside too thanks to an open vent in Westwood’s gym as the Hamilton Wildcats looked to make a name for themselves with a win over the always disciplined and well coached Liberty Crusaders from Jackson Tn.
Carlos Denton looked like the player that he is capable of being scoring, rebounding and getting assist and a crowd pleasing crossover move and the foul as Hamilton built an 8 point lead through the 2nd quarter, 30-22. Liberty’s cold shooting and another shot by Denton at the buzzer would put them down by 7 to end the half.
Remember that cold shooting that I was telling you about by Liberty? Well forget I said that.  With the Crusaders down 9, Codaro Williams hit a three then another after a Hamilton turnover which made it 49-46. Tydell Mcleod of Hamilton converted an and one but this time it was Ricky Williams who hit a 3-pointer to pull them within one point, 50-49.
Raleigh’s Guard Too Much For White Station
AJ Big In The Second Half

You’re up 15 with 1:57 remaining in the 1st half and you’re looking good. Ferrakhan Hall is playing well, Joe Jackson is playing well and for the most part things are going your way until… Hall gets a tech for complaining about not getting a foul call and that once big lead closes to 8 as Ronald “Tank” Brown jump stops in the lane for a bucket to close the half, 40-32. The Spartans would go up double digits thanks to sophomore Andre Hollins 3-pointer, to make it 43-32. Senior guard Gentry Hines would get 2 on a lay up around Hall as the Pharaohs edged closer to the Spartans, 43-39 but Hollins would get another 3 to go down at the 5:40 mark of the third.Senior Anthony “AJ” Jones (above) started to assert himself scoring 8 straight on a pull up jumper and two layups and 2 free throws as the Pharaohs took the lead, 53-49. Another Hollins 3, would make it 58-52 as the Station faithful started to think about that once 15 lead.

Reggie Fondren and Jones’s easy layup would make the score62-52 as they took their first double digit lead of the game. Tensions started to mount as Hines would receive a technical for talking to Joe Jackson who had been quiet since the 1st half. He would uncharacteristically miss both free throws as the Spartans mistakes started to add up to Pharaoh buckets. Hollins would foul out but at that point, the game’s outcome seemed to be all but determined. Fondren would go baseline for 2 points to make the score 74-59 as the Raleigh Egypt went on the win the game, 83-72. When I asked Jones about their 15 point deficit in the 1st half he said, “We just played and didn’t think about the score and we came out and played and did what we do”. He led all scorers with 24 points with Tank Brown right behind him with 22 points. Jackson and Hollins had 23 and 21 points respectively.

”Whoever doubts us, we coming” said Jones.

We may have a new number one team a top the rankings when the Prepscoop 10 comes out this week.
Anthony Jones plays Steve Nash drawing the defense and dishing.
