A great pass from senior Marvin Veasey to Jones on a floater and the foul made it 25-17 to end the quarter. A sweet pull up jumper by sophmore Marquis Wilson got his team pumped up but Jones would not let his team down with another two putting his team up by 8, 28-20. Cardinal guard Daryl Marshall hit a short jumper to bring his team within 4, 30-26 with 1:30 left in the 2nd. Wilson would drain a 3 to give Woodale their 1st lead of the game 31-30 but Cedric Bee of Raleigh Egypt answered right back with a 3 of his own to close the 1st half 33-31, Pharaohs. Raleigh Egypt started the 2nd half cold, not hitting a shot in their 1st four possessions until Jones layed the ball up with his team still up 35-32 with 6:20 in the 3rd. The Pharaohs picked up the d, scoring 8 straight points off 4 Cardinal turnovers. Woodale would fight back on a Jamal Draine jumper and great inbound play and lay up by Jamison. A Jones and 1 would end the 3rd, 49-46. Jones got the Pharaoh faithful excited with dunk off the rim to make 53-46 with 7:18 left. The 6'3 guard would foul out on a questionable call but Rashad Harris simply took over for his team. The sophmore guard would hit 17 points in the 4th but Woodale still had chance. Marshall of Woodale miss a long 3 attempt before his team fouled Harris. In what may have been his only mishap of the night, the 6'1 guard missed both free throws but his teammate Veasey got the offensive rebound forcing a pass for a turnover when the ball went out of bounds. A desperation 3 would go long for Wilson, giving Raleigh Egypt the win 71-68.

Harris and Jones were absolutely incredible with Harris scoring 27 and Jones having 29. Cedric Bee was also in double figures with 10 points. Wilson had 19 to lead his team and Mike Jamison added 14. Boo Marshall had 12. Don't be surprised to hear more about Jones and Harris, the two could be future Division 1 basketball players.

Harris 27, Jones 29 in Win

If I told the average high school basketball fan that Raleigh Egypt could win without, Arnette Moultrie, Gentry Hines, Tank Brown and point guard Jeremy Harris, they would think that I was crazy but thats exactly what Raleigh Egypt did. The very young shorthanded Pharaohs outlasted a never quitting Woodale team but the win wasn't easy. Junior Anthony Jones got his team started with a spin move and jumper in the lane. Michael Jamison's left handed lay up off the glass pulled Woodale within 5, 22-17 with 30 seconds left in the 1st quarter.
