MEMPHIS HIGH SCHOOL 2007-2008 TEAM PREVIEW
He could arguably be the best point guard in Memphis right now. Garth can score it with either hand in transition but what may set him apart is his passing ability. Denario Robertson is back for his senior year and he must have a huge one. Robertson can shoot the ball from deep but he must just not rely on that. He has to help rebound and use his mid range jumper to create more scoring opportunities for himself. Southside transfer, Feshaun Cole will also make some noise this season. The junior guard must get adjusted and fast if he's to play in Coach Lawson's uptempo system. Morris Moten, a junior who has not played in two years can definitely play but he will be a little rusty in the first half of the year. The key to their success may be 6'6 Carlos Denton and Tony Driver. Driver played a nice role last year as the defensive stopper but he may be asked to score more this year. Denton is one the most talented players in 16-AAA but he will not be eligible till December.

The district has gotten a lot more competitive with the influx of talent at Melrose and always talented Central and you know Fairley will be there with Coach Ford. Coach Lawson also took a hit when senior Ivan Relleford transferred all of a sudden forcing freshman Cameron Clear into the mix very early. It may be very early to say what this team will do but I'm sure Coach Lawson has something up his sleeve.

Hamilton High Team Preview

Gone are Divison 1 players, Deveyon Hunter, Broderick Gilchrest and Myron Strong. For the 1st time in his 4 year tenure, Coach Lawson enters this season not knowing what kind of team he will have. Only two players from the 39-0 team that even got marginal playing time are still there but don't feel to sorry for Coach Lawson just yet. Enter in, Nathen Garth. The 6'1 senior point guard and New Mexico signee comes in after playing last year in Dallas Texas.
