Jasmine Robinson Sparks, Lady Wolverines
With Arkansas signee Sarah Watkins already having, 19 and 10 rebounds in the 1st half, Coach Jamie Rosser came out with a very deliberate strategy, hold the ball and make the Lady Mustangs come out and guard. The result was not what he was looking for as the Lady Wolverines turned the ball over after holding the ball the first 2 minutes of the 2nd half leading to a Houston score. Watkins would score on a lay-up after catching and finishing on a finger roll and the foul to put Houston up, 30-29 with 4:43 left in the 3rd. Houston senior Lauren Witt found herself in a trap by Overton’s defense but some how was able to spin out and convert a lay-up but that would be her team’s last points of the quarter. Junior Jasmine Robinson would score on 2 points plus the foul, as the Lady Wolverines would go on a 9-0 run to make the score, 44-36.Witt would hit a 3 pointer to open the 4th period and make the score, 44-39 with a little over 7 minutes. Houston could not capitalize off Overton’s mistakes even once appearing to have an easy lay up but the ball would go off a Houston player’s leg. The closest they would get would be 7 points on a Sarah Watkins baseline jumper but there was Robinson again with a bucket and the foul as the Lady Wolverines would go on to get the win and make a statement to the district, 56-44. Robinson led Overton with, 19 points with 15 of those coming in the 2nd half. Orlandria Williams chipped in with 15 points. Watkins led all scorers with, 31 points and 15 rebounds.

Lady Wildcats Shock BTW
