Last Second Foul Does In The Tigers
Miscue By Mitchell Gives Fairley The Win
Two of the best guards in the city went head to head as Mitchell traveled to Fairley. Juniors Madracus Wade and Allen Farmer wanted to both prove they were the best but James Jackson of Fairley proved that he would be a factor in the game as well. He would score 10 first half points as Fairley took a 30-23 lead at the half. Senior Russell Hill would score in transition but that would be one of his many buckets in the 3rd quarter. You want to know what he did, with 5:40 left in the quarter, he made it rain, threes that is. Trey ball, trey ball, trey ball, trey ball, trey ball scoring 15 straight points as the Tigers closed the Bulldogs lead to 1 but he wasn’t done yet. He would hit a pull up and a fall away jumper and the foul hyping his team up and the Mitchell fans in attendance as his team went up, 49-48. His 20 points in the quarter would tie the score heading into the final period. Mitchell would go up by 4, 59-55 but Danny Stanback would float a baseline shot to tie the score, 60-60. Jackson would hit a tough jumper with 2:25 in the quarter but they would be dealt with Farmer fouling out the game. Missed free throws would hurt both teams but Fairley found themselves up by 4 once again with 54 seconds left before Hill would go off glass for a basket and a free throw to make the score, 65-64. Fairley would turn the ball over with a guard with Kenneth Jackson stepping on the baseline but Mitchell would give it right back. Coach Ford repeatedly told his players to hold the ball but Marvell Bryant would force up a shot but luckily the ball would bounce their way giving them the ball back. The Bulldogs would end up with the ball but Mitchell would steal the ball thanks to a great trap in the corner giving Wade a lay up and putting the Tigers up, 66-65 with 12 seconds left. Fairley would have one last chance missing two shots but wait, Jackson would be fouled as buzzer went off, giving his team a chance to win the game from the line. The results, two free throws and a win for Fairley, 67-66

39 Not The Right Price For Mayo
Coleman And Price Combine For 43

The Houston Mustangs were in the house of the Cougars on Monday night but these were not the same of Mustangs of last year.  It’s quite obvious with OJ Mayo in the crowd, ah, that’s what I was talking about, he has a brother that plays for Houston.
6’2 junior Todd Mayo has made quite the splash for his new team but tonight was his team’s first test as they took on a surprising Kirby team. With things not going his team’s way with sloppy turnovers including several by Mayo, the Mustangs found themselves down, 32-12 with 6:19 to go in the 2nd quarter but he would prove why the fans around the city have been talking about the brother of the Grizzly guard.
Kirby Duo 'CP2'
He would score 18 in the quarter but Kirby’s reserve guards held off persistent Mustangs to have a 55-39 first half lead. The Mustangs would get it as close as 8, 57-49 but Laterick Flowers would hit a 3 to put them back up 11. Houston’s one on one play would be no match for Kirby’s duo of Chris Price and Brenton Coleman as Kirby went on to get the win, 99-83.” We feel like our starting 5 gotta show up and play hard all 32 minutes” said Coleman.  Price would lead Kirby with 24 points while senior guard Coleman hit for 19 with very efficient shooting. OJ Mayo led all scorers with 39 points. With the win the Cougars moved to 6-1. “Watch our win column, the more we win the more we gone gain respect” said Price. The more Coach Frank’s team win, the higher in the rankings they will rise.
