Walter Davis - (Southwind-SF/PF) - Long athletic but undersized 4 looking to make some noise in a district that maybe the toughest in the state other than 16AAA. Probably one of your more underrated players in the city however he has to play huge if Southwind will contend with the big boys of Triple A. If he's able to play like he is capable of playing, look for his team to possibly upset a district power or two.
Until the season starts, 901PrepScoop will take a look at some who must step for their teams this year if they want to be successful. The first two up are Central Warrior Tim Peete and Southwind's Walter Davis.
It's Time to Shine.
Tim Peete - 6'4 (Central-SG) - Peete is the most important player to Central's suceess this season but he was their man last year as well. He can pretty much do whatever offensively, shoot the 3, hit the pull up jumper and post smaller guards but their is one thing that he is missing, takeover attitude. This year, the window has opened for the Warriors to enter into Mufreesboro but Peete has to lead by example. Game on the line, he must say, I can't lose. Night in night out he has to takeover much like his former teammate Rueben Clayton did 2 years ago. He will be no doubt the leader of this very young team but he has to guide them because of their youth otherwise they could be on the inside looking outside and wanting to play in March.
